Allow leaders to contact the supporters

We updated the call lists feature to allow multiple leader to work through the same call list simultaneously without creating any duplicate contacts. 

Previously SupporterBase ran a check to avoid calling the same people twice when the call list is started.

We added an extra layer of assurance by also running this check before contacting each individual supporter via the call list.

Optional autoresponse & notification emails when supporters are added to a group

To add an extra layer of consent, as well as provide additional group leader oversight of the group membership process, we added a new optional configuration under Settings > Mailers that allows admins to:

  1. Determine whether new supporters should be sent an automatic email confirmation notifying them they have been added to a supporter group when they join via the public group signup page. Admins can also edit the default autoresponder text.
  2. Determine whether group leader should be sent an automatic email notification when a new supporter signs up via the public group page.  Admins can also edit the default autoresponder text.

Set groups to only include supporters who have all the selected tags

We extended the control you have when determining group membership by building a new option that lets you set groups to only include supporters who have all the selected tags (rather than any of the selected tags).

Ensuring we don't log NationBuilder contacts for undelivered messages

Sometimes SMS delivery can fail if a supporter has deactivated their phone or if the number you have for the person is incorrect. In these cases, the supporter will appear in the list of undelivered recipients for the blast and our systems will make sure no corresponding contact is logged for that person in NationBuilder.

New option to split call lists into a number of equal parts

Previously call lists were not really made for simultaneous dialling and it would cause issues if multiple leaders started using a single call list at the same time. 

In order to make simultaneous calling the division of labour easier for leaders, we added a feature that lets leaders separate one large call list into multiple smaller lists for each admin/leader (i.e. with an equal number of supporters on each list).

New call list feature to ensure supporters are not called multiple times within a set period of hours/days

We released a new feature that allows users to customize exclusion filters/conditions for each call list. This allows you to control how regularly supporters will be contacted when making calls via a list. 
When creating/editing your call lists you can now select from the following configurable options:
  • "Contact method" (a multi-select dropdown of all possible methods)
  • "Contact status" (a multi-select dropdown of all possible statuses)
  • "Number of days"
Those settings will then ensure supporters are skipped from the list and not called if they have contacts matching the selected method and status filters within the past X number of days. This factors in contacts logged through SupporterBase as well as those logged through NationBuilder directly.

New instant NationBuilder - SupporterBase sync feature

The full sync process between SupporterBase and NationBuilder occurs on an automatic schedule twice daily (at 1pm and 1am UTC each day). Updates to NationBuilder profiles are immediately auto-detected in SupporterBase using NationBuilder webhooks (e.g. when forms are submitted, profile details are changed), but NationBuilder doesn't fire those webhooks when tags are added/removed from a profile, which is why we run the full regular sync twice daily to ensure everything is kept up to date. 

The limitation of this system was that not all supporter information was being displayed immediately, which could be confusing for admins and group leaders, as well as slow down any urgent actions. 

To resolve this, we added a new feature that allows admins to manually run the sync process on demand, using the green "Sync people form NationBuilder" button on each group profile.

We have improved the event creation process, including the options to "show email" and "show phone", so those contact details will automatically appear on the public event page upon creation.

Updates to the statistics displayed for each sent email blast

We made some improvements to the statistics displayed for all email blasts sent, to include unique opens (with an associated %), unique link clicks (with an associated %), spam reports and unsubscribes.

Email & sms blast variables rendered correctly in the mailbox/inbox threads

Email blasts and SMS blasts support variables, which are converted into the correct values for each supporter when sending the blast. However, those variables were not being converted where those blasts later appeared within email threads. We have now fixed this.
